Sea Lamprey

Suppress populations to levels that cause only insignificant mortality on adult lake trout.

Lake Superior sea lamprey populations continue to persist at population levels that are inducing significant mortality on adult lake trout. During the reporting period adult sea lamprey abundance index remained above target levels. During the reporting period lake trout wounding rates were steady, but above target levels. Additional treatments for sea lamprey control occurred in Lake Superior in 2018 and 2019 in an effort to achieve overall targets.
