Detection of stocked adult and wild juvenile deepwater ciscoes
During the 2014-2019 reporting period, nine bloater were collected during annual spring and fall bottom trawl surveys, and the juvenile lake trout bottom trawl survey. Preliminary examinations of bones for calcein markings suggests the fish were stocked likely originating from the USGS Tunison Laboratory in New York where calcein markings have been used on stocked bloater. Total lengths of the individuals collected ranged from 87 to 240 mm (average = 129).

Methodology
All bloater were collected during collaborative annual bottom trawl surveys conducted by USGS, NYSDEC, and OMNRF. Details regarding the spring and fall bottom trawl can be found in Weidel et al. (2020), and methods for the juvenile lake trout survey can be found in Lantry et al. (2020).
